GCSE Results 2025
Overall
63% of students gained a 4+ (standard pass) in English and Mathematics combined. 45% gained a grade 5+ or above in English and Mathematics combined.
39% of the cohort were entered for the English Baccalaureate/EBacc. 58% of this cohort achieved a band 4+ in this suit of qualifications. 42% of this cohort achieved a grade 5+. The Government refers to this as a ‘strong’ pass. The English Baccalaureate is achieved by students who grade 4+ in English, Maths, Science, a humanity and MFL.
Attainment 8 Score
Attainment 8 score was 4.4. This means the average grade Aston Academy students achieve in each subject is a grade 4 or above. This is in line with national average of 4.5. Attainment 8 is calculated by adding together students' highest scores across eight government approved school subjects.
GCSE English Language and Literature.
English Language - 70% of all students gained a grade 4+ in English, 54% of all students gained a grade 5+ and 13% of all students gained a 7+ grade.
English Literature - 74% of all students gained a grade 4+ in English, 58% of all students gained a grade 5+ and 18% of all students gained a 7+ grade.
Best English score – 77% gained a grade 4+, 63&% gained a grade 5+ and 22% gained a grade 7+
GCSE Mathematics
69% of all students gained a grade 4+ in Maths
51% of students gained a grade 5+ and 21% gained a 7+ in Maths
Post 11 Destination measures
At Aston Academy we are committed to ensuring that students leave with the necessary skills and qualifications to access Post 16 education or training. 2023 data shows that 260 of the 262 (99.3%) students who progressed from Y11 at Aston Academy went into full time education or training. In 2024 292/295 (99%) students from Y11 at Aston Academy went into full time education or training. 2025 figures indicate that 99% of our Y11 cohort progressed successfully to full time education or training after GCSE.
Post 16 results 2025
